Question about turn time

I am not exactly sure how turn time is handled.
As an example: two player turn based game with 4 turns a day: according to the FAQ this would mean you get 6 hours per turn.
Imagine you play your turn. Your opponent then immediately plays their turn. Does the 6h timer start then?
This makes it tricky when you need to go to work or sleep... It'd be easier if you could play for instance 2 turns in the morning and 2 in the evening...which is also 4 turns a day.
Am I missing something?

You've got it correct.
The only addition is that if it is fast turn based (8, 12, or 24 turns per day), the clock only runs during a 12 hour period (set by whoever created the game), and not the whole 24 hours.
As far as your concern about running out of time, that's what the time bank is for. In a 4 turn/day game, you start with at least 24 hours (I can't remember if it's more, as I mostly play fast turn based).
So, if you are playing 4 turns in a day, you're getting 6 hours added back to your time 4 times a day (which is 24 hours). That time back will cap at the starting maximum (which I think is 24 hours for 4 turns a day), but that should mean that you'll reset to roughly 24 hours every day if you play 4 times, regardless of when you play.
Does that make sense?

There's no "6h timer". There's a timer that starts at max (I think it's 24h for 4-turns-per-day games), and runs while it's your turn. For every turn, some time is added to the timer (6h in 4-turns-per-day games).
It's the same with real-time games: The timer starts at max, decreases during your turn, and some time is added every turn. Only it's seconds instead of hours.
