I'm relatively new to BGA. Love most of what's here, but I really don't like some aspects of the Reputation metrics. First off, it would be nice have a tutorial (video) describing what it's all about (presented before playing any games). Also, it really needs some tweaks. I've lost significant points when trying to play a game (particularly when jumping into normal play with folks I don't know) and not realizing how to make my next move (I understand the game rules, but not understanding why my input isn't working on BGA - then getting timed out and spanked.....). Also, there should be a way to opt out of a game before anyone starts really playing a game or prior to say 2 moves. Also one should NEVER get reputation penalties when playing with friends (only with friends), regardless of the settings. I decided to quit a game with a friend, and I immediately canceled after just accepting. I did that because I wanted to change the game settings... I lost 20 points for that!!

Many games have tutorials through which you can learn how the UI for a particular game works without playing a real game.
If you and your friends want to terminate a game, use the "Propose to abandon the game collectively" option, not "Quit this game."
I strongly disagree with being able to just walk away from a game "before anyone starts really playing a game or prior to say 2 moves." Sometimes it take a long time to get a game going and it is unfair to the other players for someone to jump ship on a whim after it finally gets going, no matter how shortly it has been going. By clicking "accept" you are agreeing to play the game. If you think you may want to play a game for a couple of moves just to try it out and then quit, then do it with friends who are on board with that plan.

When you play a game here for the first time, you get twice the time as normal for getting used to the interface. If that is not enough for you, you might choose to play in slow speed or in friendly mode. In friendly mode, none of the players will loose karma, no matter what happens (even if you quit).
