When will Silver Lake be removed from Arena ?

Basically, title.

It's a shame we still have to put up with this map in Arena. Not much to add, we're not playing the same game once we get this map, it's just annoying and stupid. And makes the eagles even more broken than they are elsewhere.

Coincidentally, can we expect a game mode without the eagles eventually or I am alone on this one ?

Just warps everything and makes for some truly stupid moments. You outplay the opponent all game, then he gets Eagles into Silver Lake map bonus into whatever third action and you're like "ah, yes, of course, I should have played around the one remaining eagle in the deck".

The eagle part is probably a rant and probably not a good idea, but the Silver Lake one is hard to refuse no ?

So yeah, whoever is handling Ark Nova at BGA should remove Silver Lake from Arena. Or at the VERY LEAST make it optional.

BGA is not allowed to make changes (basically house rules) without explicit authorization from the publisher/game designer.

So unless their is some official word on the subject, nothing can be done here on BGA.

H-what ?
So disabling "unbalanced" birds in Wingspan is not a BGA decision for exemple ? Why would the publisher would have a word to say about how a "private" league is ran by a third party ?

Arena is a very specific sub category of Ark Nova on BGA. Why would publisher have oversight over that...

In Wingspan, the publisher announced an official variant to remove those birds, thus allowing the developers on BGA to make the same option available here.

Publishers have oversight because BGA does not own the rights to the games. BGA gets explicit permission from the publisher's/designers to use their games as they exist. BGA has no right to manipulate someone else's intellectual property without explicit permission from the owners.

You're of course free to play with whatever house rules you wish with your physically purchased copy of Ark Nova (or any other game).

Because they are the ones granting the license so they can control how their IP is used here ?

I think there is bigger issues than silverlake in arena. Archeologist, endgames, first player advantage, Hollywood Hills just to name a few

What's the problem with Silver Lake on Arena? Aren't all players in similar position there? Same question goes to Hollywood Hills? I'm new to Arena mode so trying to understand the issue here.

Hollywood hills is very swingy, one player lucking into good sponsors and other into bad ones can make extremely unbalanced starts.

I don't have that much issue with it tho, I think it is fine.

Archeologist is busted tho.
