Enjoyed Turing Machine at first as it allowed for more plays than what we are able to get to the table. However, I've noticed that players are winning with minimal verifier checks. Looking at a couple of them, where the correct code was entered after only 2 checks, I didn't see how they could have possibly been accurately deduced from just 2 checks. Figured I was missing something perhaps.

However, in one of my most recent games, the correct code was entered after 0 checks. ZERO! The experience has taken BGA Turing off of my favorite list and begs the question in the subject line. Anyone else notice this issue?

It is possible to solve a problem with far fewer checks than you would think, sometimes even 0, without cheating.

Knowing that:
(a) There is a single code that gives YES in all verifiers, and
(b) Removing any verifier would result in (a) no longer being true
allows you to greatly reduce the checks needed, and in some cases down to 0.

That said, cheating is possible, either by using a solver/help tool to do all the "deduction" for you, or by exploiting vulnerabilities in the way the game is programmed (basically, you can find the id and get the solution from the official website, unless it has been changed recently). This is why I suggested that competitive features should be disabled for this game, but it has so far been ignored: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=98758

I have already done one game with only 1 code (and 2 check), so yes it's possible.

@Jellby : do you have an example of game that can be winned with zero check ? don't give me the answer I want to try to find the answer by myself

If it’s easy difficulty, I commonly solve in 1-3 checks. I don’t play easy or normal anymore lol.

This is an odd game for multiplayer. I would just play solo. It would be nice if they implement the handicap feature, and somehow it is automatically suggested based on player rating? idk. If playing with friends, I can manually handicap and decide to ask only 1 or 2 questions in round 1.

For a Classic mode puzzle I very rarely need a 2nd round; most can be solved in 0–3 questions. My favourite puzzles to solve are the 0-question ones!

The resources already posted above are good places to research. The YouTube video even gives me a shout-out lol (I'm Chris Warr) .

On the BGG forums I've posted a lot in the Daily Challenge and No Questions thread.

You watch that video yet, OP? That’s the level that some people are playing at, which may or may not be for you. Solo play and the daily challenges are still great.

According to the bgg thread above there are even a few zero check problems in the rulebook—problem 9 for example.
