RFTG - Show backside of cards if opponent(s) is playing one

The title explains all!

It would be nice to know before making a move (playing a development or a world card) if the other player(s) is (are) also playing a card. In real life, it would show I think. The only way we can know for now is when we check if the number of cards in hand is lower than the beginning of the phase... At that moment, I have other things in my mind (do I play a card or not). I think it would be useful jon the lasts turn when someone is close of getting twelve cards in play.

Keep up the good work!

P"S" I hope I was clear, j'espère avoir été assez clair ;)

this sounds a little useless, since if you show it BEFORE he commits then he can take it back after you play yours, and if you show it only AFTER he commits then both of you will sit there until time runs out waiting to see if the other one plays a card.

Good point, but still...

In Libertalia, you can change the chosen card until the last player has picked one,
in Puerto Rico, in the mayor phase, you can change the place of your settlers until everyone has decided to stop. You can even change your mind depending on the way other players place their settlers!

Maybe people will change their mind too often and make the game really longer in RFTG. I still think though that it will make the game more realistic and more enjoyable. With experienced players, the game only lasts 10 minutes out of the most. I don't mind if it last a little longer.

Thanks for the comment and have a nice day!

I think it has no sense as, in real game, you also don't have to have this information.

I mean, ok, often players don't care, so you know, but, in theory, everyone should put a card "as if" they would play it, and take it back if they don't.

As I am also not clear in english, here the french version :)

Thanks for the comment!

In fact, I think you're right. In real games, you could not want to show this kind of information (even though a lot of players won't care about it as you said). So, for this matter, I therefore suggest NOT to change anything about what I suggested earlier!
Have a nice day (yes, it's an order ;) )
