Board Game Arena

I think arena mode is just made up to make people regret they ever played so hard to get high in the board.
Especially for those games with a lucky factor the scoring algorithm is just meaningless. You cannot loose 100s points in a few games out of bad luck when it takes days to get there. Especially when you are close to the top and somehow you get paired with very low players you end up loosing points no mater what because even if you win 4 or 5 games it takes only one bad luck game to reset the score.
Maybe a winning % would be more fair instead of this way of awarding points.

There are a few games that I really enjoy that fall into this category that I ultimately decided not to play in arena for this reason. Winning 75%+ of games with such luck factor is very good but like you mentioned you will get to the top or close and a few bad losses will drag you down to players levels that you have played way better than throughout the season. They are using an elo system designed for chess that is multiplied in arena for games like tic tac match The counter argument is "don't play games with a luck factor" even though that applies to a large portion of games on this site.

For starters they could change the filter option to allow players to filter by arena score rather than opponents league. I don't believe a change will be made because this system forces good players to play more to achieve the same thing as lower players and lower players will play more because they can still get back in the ranks with a good streak. Which keeps everyone playing.

I just think that they should do something about it. I mean, everyone complains about it but nothing is done... something is wrong with the management of this platform
