Waiting times increase in last two weeks

Greetings.
I'm curious why waiting times on some popular 2 player games like Fluxx would have increased from 1min to 8min recently? In fact, other games seem to have increased as well, but I thought thay would be a good example to use as it only requires one other player and is fairly popular.

I’ve had this problem too although I haven’t used BGA for a while. I used to get two player games of Can’t Stop Express within 2 minutes easily, now I’m given a 15 minute waiting time and I’m waiting so long I inevitably cancel.

I've seen this a lot even on games which used to be popular, like Just One. It could be that players grow tired and a new game becomes popular.
Personally, I felt that real-time games became much harder to find ever since the newer lobby style was introduced, since it becomes harder to just see all open tables for a game at a glance. However, that could be me imagining things.

Don't forget you can still use the old lobby by clicking play now justv like you used to.

While I know that, I'm not sure if the average player knows that.

I’m sure for some games, arena must be a factor, yes? It’s effectively splitting the pool of players into two groups.

This is very true. I actually know some veterans who get lost when they join a table, and it throws them into the new format. They don't know how to get back to the screen that shows all of the games waiting to play now. So they only wait at one table, where, as before, they could pepper a few games and wait for one to start.

True but arena was invented in 2020 so not a big factor in the last two weeks

desperately obvious we need a way to queue for arena and regular simultaneously for those who are open to either
