Most likely something between your computer and the BGA server is not communicating as fast as it should, the implementation realizes this and displays "network error" rather than crashing the game.

No, it's more specific than that. It's an HTTP 502 error, which means that a proxy got a bad response from upstream. Since it started happening when BGA added some caching (further details not given in the thread where I saw this explained), I think that means that the caching infrastructure is the problem.

I'm sorry about this. Indeed, we are aware about a lot of 502 errors (network error). We are working to solve this issue permanently.

Same here. Yesterday I also had Server Error 502 while playing Space Base in the Arena. II couldn't select a card and ended up being banned from the game. That cost me 10% of my reputation, even though it wasn't my fault.
