Added to turn based games without my approval

I have been having an issue with being added to turn based games without my approval or accepting it. I am not able to be on BGA as often I used to so I haven't been joining turn based games but yet sometimes when I log in it shows that I am in any number of games that I was never prompted to accept. It's hurting my karma score, and upsetting the other players cuz I am not playing in a timely fashion, but of course I'm not cuz I never wanted to be in the game to begin with.

Why is this happening? Help!!

If you click to play a turn based game, permission is given at the moment you queue for the game. If you don't hit cancel before the game launches, it will launch sometime in the future and potentially put you in this position.

The other alternative is that you have signed up for tournaments that then periodically advance to the next round and automatically launch games.

For example, you are shown as signed up for https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=205364 .

Additionally, apart from Haiclue 11 days ago, all your recent booting penalties are from tournament games (in VektoRace - https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=183574, and Automobiles - https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=205364).

Thank you so much I wouldn't have even thought of that. I had asked the players in game about it and no one could answer me. Much appreciated :D

I imagine there would also be some penalty for this - though presumably less than getting kicked in each remaining round :-) -
but at least on the page for the tournament I'm in, I see a "Withdraw from the tournament" button.

This might be available only early in tournaments - for mine, it's still the first round - but if it's still
available for you, then it should be a red button to the right of the format description on the tournament page.

(eg., to the right of "Each participant plays the same number of games, and is paired with players close to their level."
at https://boardgamearena.com/tournament?id=205364 )
