Lost a game with 5 vp more than closest opponent - no win card involved

I'm sure this is just me not understanding a game mechanic, but on my final screen I have 48 vps to mfairchi's 43.
No one used the instant win card or the lose vp card.
However, I was briefly out of time during the game. Is there some sort of penalty for that if you play Arena?

Edit: When I clicked the link above my total was showing as 42. But I am positive that it showed 48 when I finished the game. I'll take a look at the replay.
Edit 2: I watched the replay through and my total never showed 48. So either I was going blind at the end of the game or the 48 was a strange display glitch on the right panel.
