Chat disable for DC-AFK penalities

Hello there,

I'm a recent user of this forum and I joined here because I wanted to try few games before buying them.

I immediately try to look for a table for my target games and, since i wasn't familiar with the website, I queued with the wrong options (turn based games). Once I realize it, I was already in 3 different tables, so I quit those games. That game me a huge decrease in karma, and right now I have 45%. That is totally my fault, I don't complain it.

For that reason tho, and that reason only (quitting 3 games that didn't even start) I have my chat disable and I can't interact in any way with other players (for at least 60 days, if I understood correctly), not even to question them something related to the game or to just say hi or gg at the end.
It is really sad to not able to ask questions, reply to opponent questions or just say you had a good game.

I think that it doens't make any sense to disable the chat for someone whose infractions were only quit some games. I mean, in every online game that I've played, they disable you the chat only for inappropriate language, or when appropriate. I don't think doing it as a general form of punishment makes much sense also because, without a proper reason, I believe this will worsen the game for everyone, not only for me.

Anyway I'm not typing this to try get my chat back, I can totally play without it. I just gave my 50 cents on something that should (in my humble opinion) be fixed/changed. I hope you'll take it into account.

Thank you and have a nice day

You don't receive any penalty quitting lobbies that haven't started.

If the game did start, did you ask in chat first to explain you joined by accident and use the vote to abandon option in the top right menu?

Unfortunately a lot of players may not be understanding, but some would, allowing the game to cancel with no penalty.

No I didn't, since I joined tables as soon as I register, without looking how to do it, as I've explained in the first post (again, it's my bad for not reading everything proprely before starting, no questions on that).

[P.S. just to specifiy: I started 3 games with the turn based settings and some windows opened. I didn't exacly know where to look and I just reset the page and look for the game with the right settings (which I've finished). The day after I saw some pending games and I've just quit them, even before making any move]

But that doesn't change what I've said in the first post. I think a player shouldn't have the chat disabled if they didn't commit any error/abuse/wrong behavior related to the chat itself.

Just to make you an example, now if I start a table with wrong settings, I can't even communicate it to the other players in order to quit the game proprely. I hope it shows what is the issue of disabling chats regardless.

P.S.S. I think I was clear enough, but just to be sure: I agree that there should be some sort of punishment for any kind of mistake or bad behavior, no questions on that. I just find disabling chats regardless just a little bit dull, since it affects everyone's game negatively. Again, just my 50 cents on it.
