Same Arena rank in two games

So this may come across as just bragging, but I noticed a fun coincidence and wanted to point it out. My "world rank" in the arena for two different games is currently exactly the same - 73rd place in both Catan and Ticket To Ride. As I said, that may seem like bragging since there are over 6000 players in the arena for both games, so I'm obviously a pretty good player for both, but i just thought it was a cool coincidence that it happened to line up this way right now.

I've actually been higher than that in TTR when I used to play regularly a couple of seasons ago - I think I hit a best around 30th mid-season when I used to play regularly early this year. I just returned to playing on BGA after about 6+ months away, and decided to see if I could get back into the top 100. But I feel like 2 player in TTR is just sort of a grind to get arena points once you get really good at the specific 2 player strategies. Playing with more people outside arena is more fun, and more random/difficult. Or else I just haven't figured out best strategies yet, the way I have with 2 player, which seems likely.

I've played Catan a lot elsewhere, which is why I'm already a pretty good player for that, but just started playing here on BGA in the last few weeks. Again, I decided to jump into the arena to see how high I could get with it. As with TTR, I find the player count for arena to be weird. Catan is usually played with 4 players competitively elsewhere, so 3 player arena here seems odd to me. But I also think that's part of why I'm doing so well. I think it makes it easier, since less players increases the odds that I'll be the best at the table. ;) And obviously, it changes the strategies involved, too. I'm still having fun with that one, so I'll keep going to see how much higher I can get in the arena, though I'm likely to switch to non-arena for 4 players eventually.

Nice to hear you are doing well and enjoying both!

I find Arena is always a but of a grind for every game, but it has its good points too, so a mixture of arena and non Arena games suits me....some games in particular seem more in the Arena, and some more fun out of it.
