Dictatorship rule change?

I played two tables where dictatorship was played in the middle of an era and the player wanted to go up on the same track, but the game would not allow it. Gave an error message "same track already used this turn" or something like that.
Scenario 1: move to T11, use square option of "Printing Press", play Dictatorship and could not use it to go to T12 (lost game because of it) table:

Scenario 2: Move to M11 (Nuclear bomb), play Dictatorship, cannot go to M11, [url]table:

I am sure I played Scenario 2 many times before and it always worked. Bug (I submitted a ticket already) or is it a rule change that came with the new Civ cards?

I don't know why . I have just understood you can't play it if, in the same turn, you adavanced in the same track you want to apply it. New rule ? I don't know. But when you plan it and can't do it with no reason, it is unbelievable to have not been notified by rule changes.

Happened to my opponent on table:

I won because of if. I think it is a horrible bug. Vote up the bug (

Fixed or exception to the rule? Had a game yesterday where the opponent was able to play dictatorship to move up tech track, then used tech card that moves you up tech track and it allowed the move. Was this an exception to the rule or did they fix the bug

The way the bug works is that you cannot use dictatorship to advance on a track on which you have already advanced on that turn. However, if dictatorship was your first advancement on a track for a turn, you could still use another ability to again advance on that track on the same turn. For example, you would be permitted on an income turn to play dictatorship as your normal tapestry card play, and then upgrade printing press to play oil magnate to again advance on that same track. However, you would not be permitted to do it the other way around (oil magnate first, then dictatorship on the same track).

Never got lucky enough to have them both and try so I wouldn’t have known that lol. Makes sense though. Now if only they could just officially fix the bug (along with all the other ones)
