Right now, I have a turn-based table open that I had set to 5 players, open only to a specific community. 3 folks joined, so now there are 4 of us, and have been for many hours. I'd like to just get started!

In the new lobby, there's no "start game" button, only "Cancel" or "Create an additional table"?

I swear there used to be an option for this (under the old lobby system).

In turn based games? I really hope there isn't.

In real-time games you always get an accept screen, so if you join a 5-player table and the administrator decides to start with 3 players only, you can decline. Bun in turn-based games there's no such accept screen, and it would annoy many people if you could force a start with different settings from those specified when joining. You also should not be able to change game options in a turn-based game after other players have joined.

Now I guess I have to decide if I'm going to start a new table for 4 and just invite all the same people. Because otherwise I'm pretty sure this table is going to time out.

There is still that button under the old lobby style. To get there, you need to get to a URL of the form:

https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=xxxx&nr=true

Where you replace xxxx with the table number. If you click on the table from the list under your avatar, you should see the table number in the URL for the game page.

Didn't there used to be a way to set a minimum number of players and then have extra seats as an option?

They removed that (min-max number of players) long time ago
