Arena Diamond league

Was Diamond league in since the start of the season? I never noticed it until today, I was absolutely expecting to graduate from Platinum to Elite. There's only 10 players in it right now and I never noticed playing against anyone in Diamond league. It feel like it was added in the middle of the season and, if so, it feels a little weird.
