Who programmed the dice?

Post by Hammi335 »

Feels like it's not the first post concerning the dice...

I Just experience a game where we had 5x 7s followed by 8x 6s out of 11 rolls. I instantly quit the game, and as you can see on the karma of the players, many people do so too. So many games are canceled because someone leaves the game early. It's absolutely unplayable. I pointed that out in july last year, in the early weeks of catan release, but since then nothing has change. People paying Euros and Euros and being cheated. I really love this game, but im not sure it is worth to play on on boardgamearena...

Here is another game from yesterday completly without any 8s out of 100 rolls.

https://gyazo.com/176956b2c744d8abd04f113a8a985663

This makes this game just unplayable. I played over 35.000 catan games on several plattforms, but this is simply not how it should work. It's incredible bad and needs to be fixed as soon as possible.

What we also dont need is a statement like "It's unlucky but possible for x or y not to get rolled." or "post your distribution and I look for some p-values"... BGA needs someone who can program a dice, millions of applications already using it, we have 2024 soon.. come on BGA.. it's a premium game, people paying for this

A disappointed fan

The game without 8s had 29 moves and not 100. You can look for yourself (#453975586).

Other than that I cannot help you because your post makes it clear that you are not interested in a response.

Are you switching from totals - for the 7s - to the numbers on the individual dies, for the 6s?
If no, then you may want to check your counting, since 5 + 8 = 13 > 11 .

The end game Stats show the % of rolls, not the number of rolls. It causes a lot of confusion, but that’s no excuse to be rude.

You disqualify yourself. It was your own game and you don't realize that it had 29 moves and not 100?
Just count together: 10+10+9 = 29 (you were 3 players, if you add the moves each of you did you get the total number of moves in a game).

A simple percent symbol after each figure would erase all confusion. The UI is very lackluster.

Since you mention it, I'll take the opportunity to pimp my proposal on presentation of the post-game dice statistics: https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=72332 (currently, 10 votes).

Table # 464214138

Over the whole game we rolled 22% 7s vs it's supposed to be around 16-17% and in the first quarter of the game it was 32% which made it very frustrating. I'm seeing this more lately that about a quarter of my games are very 7 heavy.
