You know what, you are right, eco it is :)
kespie 195 vs 125 Automa - https://boardgamearena.com/1/gaiaprojec ... =458385699 - Ac opening, up eco, some gaiaforming (although one got stolen at bad time), further up nav and then AI for some qic actions.

Or maybe the Gleens can beat last month's Geoden, after all?
kespie 231 vs 125 Automa - https://boardgamearena.com/11/gaiaproje ... =458434941 - Ac opening, up eco, gaia1, then further up nav, then AI. Efficient feds, 2 advanced techs, all qic actions in last round, good boosters

first attempt, 1 round just a lab, advanced on the eco track. Then went eco2-nav2-terra. Got booster for big buildings, ac and PI last round. Advanced tech from the eco track, but only on the last round

Go Gleens! I've seen some good multiplayer Gleens games, including this one against Taklons, Itars and Geodens (it's worth replaying for the opening, even if you don't want to go through the whole thing): https://boardgamearena.com/gamereview?table=301133593

First time taking part in this, didn't have much of a strategy planned, just went along with the ride. Started with 1RL+4M and +4G income tech. Definitely didn't focus much on round bonuses, lots of room for improvement.

Edit: And because everyone is playing AC openings with eco, I had to try it real quick as well.

Went for both Federation techs, maybe could have gotten the 3VP when passing earlier, but made some mistakes along the way.

Edit 2: Tried focussing more on Gaia planets this time, still started with AC and eco.

I wasted at least 3 VP charging power that I ended up not using, probably made some more mistakes in the last 2 rounds

My second try. Not very satisfied. Made some mistakes.

Happy new year to all and big thanks to montybojangles for posting the challenges. Maybe we are not to vocal about it, but we really appreciate the effort.

Much better than first attempt, but wow I left a lot on the table. Finished with 5 foundation tiles but wasted a bunch of builds that I didn't manage to turn into a 4th foundation. Forgot to advance to top of economy for the last round pile of stuff...
Thanks for posting first - and could you add the link to this game? And yes, a fourth natural federation might be achievable, though I suspect is a little beyond reach. It's noticeable that the higher scores so far have more efficient federations.
Yep, sorry I missed that. Done now.

Better but I still made a big mistake and wasted resources that kept me from my 4th on-map federation.
Been starting AC but not sure if it's best to go for the double science or the AI generation instead,
Research focused on economy first, then to nav 2 just in time for spreading out to claim gaia bonuses (along with the tech that also grants the bonus.) Was able to get 27 and then 30 points in rounds 4/5 as I built on 6 gaia planets. This was the first time in the challenge that I was able to make use of the gaia project tech and convert 3 transdim planets.

So close to four natural feds!

But that's still an excellent score. Thanks for joining in the challenge.

You were unlucky in round 2 that the Firaks upgraded immediately after you'd used two tokens for two credits, instead of getting seven for four. 43 tech and 22 qic VPs is a good return. And it's nice that you tried the Ultoma difficulty.
