Help understanding a verifier...

So i just played a game and had this situation with a verifier card.

Image

My guess was 334. I was attempting to figure out if my values might match up with the card.
With the guess as 334, or odd, odd, even, i received an X.
To me, wouldnt that mean that none of those were correct? So it would have to be EVEN EVEN ODD? as the final answer?
Maybe im misunderstanding, but wouldnt this card operate as a "If yes, then = √" So by getting even 1 right i would recieve a √? And since i got a X it would mean i got them all wrong... thus making them all opposites?

The final solution was 255...
Am i misunderstanding how this card works?

Your card was testing if yellow was odd or not, that's all.
By doing the code 215 you would receive a V
With 225 you would receive an X
With 314 you would receive a V

By testing 111, 211, 121, 112 you can deduce what the verificator is and what it is exactly.

On those verificators there is always one (and only one) possibility which is true and which is tested. Other possiblities can be true or false, you don't know it.

How is this relayed on the verifier card? Nothing about it states it is only testing yellow.

You need to figure it yourself:

In the rules link, there is "The X Paradox" which will help explain this.

The card has no "magic". It's just a short list of the possible verifiers behind it. Out of the 90+ verifier cards in the game, it's telling you it's one of those six (B even | B odd | Y even | Y odd | P even | P odd). The verifier is one (and only one) of those, the other five are irrelevant. In another game where you see the same criteria card, it could be linked with a different verifier of those six (or maybe the same).
