Quick question: In my last game the red player scored the points from the field shown in the picture, how is this possible if we had the same number of peasants on the board?

Hey, I think that's because you missed one red on top-right

Scoring by field (rather than by city) I count 4 red and 3 blue.

you are missing a red meeple, the one at the top. 4 red, 3blue and 3 green on that field.
