More transparency in player reputation

Hi!

I am new to this forum. I play here regularly for a couple of months. It had happened to me to receive red thumbs for unknown reasons. In my opinion the username that gives a reputation thumb should be displayed. Also the opinion, good or bad, should be motivated, with a short text.

Furthermore
I think that people how give red thumb to more than 50% of the table should have not their vote taken in account. and people how easely give red one in the propention of more than 80% compare to green shouldn't be alowed to vote.

But i think show how give you a red shouldn't be showed give, would making things worth...

It would be good if giving red thumb required a short comment. The player who receives it would know what bad he did and maybe later he could correct his behavior. Furthermore it would discourage giving red thumbs without a reason.

On the other hand in most cases red thumbs given without a real reason are rather occasional and most players (checked by looking randomly at players being online right now) have less than 10% of red thumbs (founder of this topic included). So I don't think it's really a big issue.

I completely agree. I just started playing here a few days ago, and I'm getting hammered in the reputation department. It's hurting my ability to continue playing on here because so many players will only play with people with a high percentage of green thumbs. I suspect most of the red thumbs I'm receiving are because I've beat a player or went a few seconds over on the clock, not good reasons for a red thumb in my opinion, but knowing who is giving them and why, and making that info available to everyone who looks at my profile, would make a lot of sense.

Another issue I've run into is the time clock issue. Time clocks should be on a per turn basis, not a total clock for the game. I am not a speed player, especially since the games I play are intense strategy games, like Puerto Rico. If I have a minute to make my move each time, I know what my target is and I don't have to keep track of an overall game clock. But when I have a total clock for the game, I often don't realize how much time I'm taking and end up getting penalized for it later.

Game clock is not as total for whole game nor it's not per turn. It's mixed. At least that's my experience. Beside you can join or set up game with slow speed setting.
There is also a button which sends predefined message to other players that you want some time to think.

Generally I think if you talk to your opponent on game chat you can avoid getting red thumbs.

That might be your reason for the red thumbs.
Make sure to start your own games, set the timer to Slow, and warn people that you like to think BEFORE you begin. I am a fairly fast player, and I do NOT want to play with extremely slow people (and I give them red thumbs to avoid them in the future).

Because I don't want to sit there watching my opponent think for 2 minutes over *every turn*. It's not fun. I already planned all my moves for the next 4 rounds and am probably watching a video or playing something totally different elsewhere between turns, and in the 45 minutes it takes to finish this game I would have finished this one and played 3 or 4 others to completion.
