What happens in tournament play when a player is out of time and removed from the game ? If all the remaining players are
considered "winners" who advances to the next round of the tournament ??

It's not documented, but based on my observations, the date the account was created is considered as a tie breaker in such situation.

There is some discussion of it in this thread:

This is the type of question that BGA ought to clearly answer in a FAQ. If you agree, vote here:

Voted. Unlike other "simple" requests people make on here that would actually require a lot of development and testing with the risk of breaking something else in the process, all we are asking for is a clear official statement of how something
already implemented actually works. Whether it's a coin flip, or the age of your account, or your ELO, or your astrological sign, just tell us what it is!

Very useful responses by all of you if I may say.
Thanks to Matthew5000 for pointing out the report, I voted up too.
There are some other discussions too on the subject, but it is a little shocking that there is not a bigger conversation about this and that the developers and/or moderators haven't come to the point that they need to address it.
If I may, I would like to point anyone who reads this to report #107221, which I submitted on the subject.
See you around.
Thanks.
