Love the idea of the awards. It would be good for future years if we could have more notice of which games are the nominees as 7 days is too short a time to learn and play all of those games so it just becomes a case of voting for those you know. Also allowing people to choose which categories they vote for rather than having to vote in all of them would help stop random picks.

We have selected games released in 2023...

To be exact, released into stable status on BGA in 2023.
Wingspan's stable release date on BGA is 2022/09/14, so it doesn't qualify.

I am really curious how these categories got made. Wizards of the Grimoire was in Best Regular game but not in Best 2 Player? I am also sad I didn't see Living Forest in Best Forest game because I really enjoy it.

Update: ok I see that only games released in 2023 so that makes sense that Living Forest isn't there now. But still curious about WotG

Adding to the chorus: Don't make us vote for each category next time. I had to vote for a category based on never having seen any of the games before. It diminished the quality of the voting and the victory of the winners.

While these things are always popularity contests, requiring choices in every category pushes it into just name recognition.

Making all categories required for voting invalidates the vote. I've only played one of the 2 player games and my parents (who are both premium members) can not vote at all since they have not played any of the hardcore games.
