Select players by time zone; not language.

I am frustrated with setting up games for fast turn-based play and inevitably getting gamers from each corner of the planet. Although very cool socially, it is not so cool for practical gaming.
I want to play games with opponents that are generally on my same schedule. I understand that there is a window for active play that can be selected at set-up; however, I don't believe many people read any of those parameters before joining a game. It feels like half of my games are player takes an action; 7 hours later, next player takes there action, rinse and repeat.
Games where players are in the same time zone seem to move along at a steady clip with everyone signing on and off in sync each day. I appreciate all of the hard work and I have no idea what the programming would entail, I just know location seems to have a much greater impact on the flow of the games than the language of the players.
Thank you!

Good suggestion! Have you added it to the list? ->

This is the actual issue. Rather than impose pre-conceived notions about what a normal schedule is based on a time zone, instead someone joining a fast turn-based game, i.e., one with set playing hours, should have to specifically opt into that window based on some kind of pop-up warning like they use for beta games. The game should not start until everyone specifically acknowledges an explicit message about the playing hours.

Some relevant suggestions I found in BGA's bug report system:
https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=29609 "Warn if turn based tournament has playing hours" (5 votes)
https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=57379 "Hide fast turn-based games with incompatible playing hours or warn before joining" (3 votes)
https://boardgamearena.com/bug?id=13703 "Turn Based: ability to restrict players by timezone/region" (marked as implemented)

They claim that it was "implemented," but they just referred to setting playing hours as the "implementation," which doesn't solve the problem.

Yes totally agree, Also would be good if we all had our time zones displayed in our profile so we had a better understanding of how fast the game may be

Do you believe that if you know someone's geographical time zone, then you know their schedule too? You might know what time it is where they live, but how will you know whether they go to sleep at 9 pm, 11 pm, or 2 am? How will you know whether they work in an office from 9 to 5 or in a nightclub from 8 to 4?

They won't know, I say in the wee hours of the morning in my time. As a night person and someone who has had a lot of jobs with odd hours, this time zone thing makes me nuts every time I hear it. I also prefer not having mine displayed in my profile. But then, I don't take games that are faster than once per day, or I try not to.
