This Thursday, Hersh will deploy a snake draft for families and servants, something I asked him to develop to cope with the overpowered Howard family. Those of you who followed my recent Kickstarter know that I introduced both a snake draft and Distinguished Family Members in that campaign, which balances out the Howard advantage.
For BGA, I am making the snake draft the default. Players will draft a family, and then, in reverse order, players will draft a servant. This will prevent this drafting pattern:
1. Ann picks Howard and Useful Man
2. Ulrich picks York and Cook
3. Maricel picks Ponsonby and Head Housemaid
4. Ted picks Asquith and Lady's Maid
Who wouldn't want to be Ann in this scenario? Now:
1. Ann picks Howard
2. Ulrich picks York
3. Maricel picks Ponsonby
4. Ted picks Asquith
5. Ted picks Cook
6. Maricel picks Useful Man
7. Ulrich picks Head Housemaid
8. Ann picks Lady’s Maid
This will be a much better approach. Thanks!
