Maybe I'm missing something: but the only way to play ARENA games is 3 players + 3 legends?

Yes, until next season.
In arena mode, everyone plays with the same options (except game speed).

We don't know yet. Gurus have until the week before the end to vote for the next format.

I'm not a fan of legends level 1. Usually most of them are behind (on higher ELO) and therefore prevent the comback mechanism last players get.

I really wish at some point arena in turnbased can be played with different amount of players than arena real time. Because in turnbased there is no real "not enought players" problem and we can have full experience with 6 player matches.

My experience with 6 player turn based matches is someone runs out of time, and someone else (who invariably isn't winning) boots them out of the game -which gets to be pretty frustrating!

My preference would probably be 4 players with faster legends, but I don't play enough real time to know if that would cause an issue.

Yeah I face this in normal games as well. But the arena folks are usually different. I never had such problems in arena in any games I played. And I play a lot.
