So, I got screwed, again, by the BGA math.
I'm beating a player ranked 300 points above me (503 vs 213) and they resign at 82% of the game (54 vs 35) and I get

ONE POINT on the Gold scale towards the next rank. ONE fookin point!

Total crap

ELO and Arena are seperate.

I don't believe the poppycock is a bird card in the base game. Maybe it's in one of the expansions.

ELO doesn't effect your rank gain/loss in arena...

https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=469515262 7 gold vs 8 bronze. I believe 7 gold is higher, yes? Beating a much lower rated player isn't going to grant many points. On the other hand, the 200s player got 17 points for beating the 500s player.

I fail to see the issue here. Arena and regular ratings are separate, and rightfully so, otherwise it would be near impossible for a player to climb up one if they developed a lot in the other first.

They were in the ELITE ranking group. So still absolute poppycock. [It's a hybrid related to a shuttlecock]

Today I lose by 1 point, both Gold ranking, their ELO 15 above mine, AND I LOSE 3 Rank pips.

I maintain that the math smells funky.

Again: ELO doesn't effect [sic] your rank gain/loss in arena...

Again, ELO is not part of the math for arena ranks.

also margin of victory (how many points) doesn't matter either.
