Board Game Arena

What's with the values of gems being given in the rules? They don't affect the win condition (which is combinations of gems). Does it factor into our ratings or something?

The gem values are for BGA to use as a tie-breaker. They are not currently in the original 2004 English rules as published on Boardgamegeek.com.
It would be interesting to use highest points as the victory condition and only use the 4-of-a-kind/5-colours/7-gems as a game end trigger. This was suggested in a game I just played by someone who plays this way in their face-to-face games.
