Penalty for Team playing

I would like to strongly suggest that a stricter penalty is implemented for players who engage in team playing because there are no considerable repercussions for them. It is highly unfair, time wasting and frustrating when this happens because these players get away with nothing but a red thumb. BGA Team, please please please, do something to stop this! Just today, two players on Catan teamed up against me and they were not even friends. Who else agrees?

A vague call to "do something" is not an actionable item. The problem with a game like Catan is that despite accusations like this being routine, there are rarely black-and-white cases of collusion. If they are trading with each other at 9 to 1, ok, fine, I'll give you that one. But it's usually not that. Most times it's people whining about the robber being placed on them. So are they supposed to set up some kind of tribunal to evaluate each of these cases? Put it up for a vote? What specifically are you proposing they do?

The penalties for systematic team play are very harsh here on BGA. Loss of Elo points (restart at 100), loss of Arena points, temporary playing bans and for repeated offenses even permanent bans. What else do you want?

Obviously you have to prove this systematic team play cheating beyond any reasonable doubt! I have done that and it works. I recommend that you analyze at least 10 games of the players to be sure they systematically cheat.
