Board Game Arena

Hello,

Does someone know how the ELO score (bonus or malus) is calculated at the end of a game?
I really don't get the logic.
Maybe the rule is common to all board game arena games, I'm barely playing only at Faraway so I don't really know the rest of the app / site

Basically, in a 2 player game, the ELO gain/loss is based on the difference between the ELO of the two players, right before the game ends. It doesn’t count what the actual score of the game is, only who lost and who won. If the winner’s ELO was greater than the looser’s, than there is only a small amount of ELO gain/lost. If the winner’s ELO was lower, than you gain/loose a lot more ELO.

In games with 3 players or more, it works as if you had played a 2-player game against each opponent.
For example, in a 3 player game where you ended up 2nd, you gain ELO based on the ELO difference between you and 3rd. And you loose ELO based on the ELO difference between you and first. Only the overall sum of the gain/lost is displayed
