TURNED-BASED GAME

Hi; I am rather new here and I've started turned-based games for the first timer. My counter-partner doesn't play. Can I lose the game if he starts playing the game just before the end of the time giving me no choice but to respond because f.e. it is in the middle of the night?

How are the turned-based games organized?

No. Each player has their own clock which only goes down when it is your turn. For arena games, each time you take a turn more time is added to your clock. How much depends on the game settings. Tournaments work a little different - you have a total amount of time for all your moves for the match.
