Is there an honor code in ark nova matches? let me explain. I had play less or more 120 matches but lately i find many players who give up in the last round. I mean, isn't it a bit rude to ruin a 1 hour game experience instead of litteraly waiting just 2 minutes? It really makes me mad. And what's more (even if it's hard) if i have the wrong objective card or i miss something maybe they still can win. I mean, i understand if u give up at 60 points but not if we have 99 points, am i wrong?

If they concede, they are saving you both time and granting you the win. It would be a little selfish if you could force them to wait for a victory lap to complete.

Personally I get more satisfaction from a good play when i'm able to concatenate multiple effects than earning 10 points. For me the end of the game is teh best part of it. Moreover if you wait until the end you can also check your score and understand more things about the game (won or lost). When you can't do it because someone can't wait 1 or 2 minutes (of almost sixty played) it's only frustrating

That's what he means by victory lap. If they know they can't win then it's pointless to win. You always see this at higher level plays. Also when you figure out there's only 2 metric to scoring you can figure it out yourself. On the. Culture board you get the points for the culture and the appeal thats why you hit 100 when they pass.scoring confused me early on but it's super simple.

I see why you wish they wouldn't concede, it's nice to play through the combos you've been building to. You can also look at this as them honouring your skill. Like in chess, there's never a mate in high level games, it's either a draw or one opponents just concedes and it's like saying: I am seeing that you are winning this game no mather what, you do not have to prove it to me on the board, I appreciate your skill and your victory.

I had this happen once in real life board gaming when one opponent left the table before the end of the game (not Ark). We thought that this was absolutely unacceptable. However here on bga it seems quite common so I learned to deal with it. I see where you are coming from though.

You can't more than win, and people are not NPCs in your life and so why do you think it's honorable to make them sit and wait for you to show off?

This is also kind of a weird understanding of playing games together - whether it is in real life or online. It's not necessarily about showing off but the fact that they agreed to play a game together which usually includes finishing it. OP already said that the person conceding kind of robs him of the experience and the joy of playing a full game. So I don't think OP is rude in any way.

When people agree to play a game, you do know that's not some unconditional surrender where people agree to put up with anything and everything until the game is over? The game is over when one player wins and the only thing OP is being robbed of is to play his own made up minigame that noone agreed to play with him.

I have the same thing happened in Ark Nova several times. Always on +90% points when some just leaves. I think it would be OK to "give the win" if you feel like, BUT the game doesn't give you (or anyone) the win (and points for the win) if someone leaves the table. And that sucks. I don't know how it is in two player games? Do you get the win if the other person leaves? In 3+ player counts nobody gets the win if someone leaves. Game should just continue to the end without the player who left.

Really makes me avoid this game to spend 2 hours and game ends in a "draw" because someone revenge quits at the last turn so you wont get the win.
