Why is bronze league filled with so many advanced players/smurfs?

This is my first month playing Ark Nova, and first week trying the ranked ladder, and it's just been so frustrating.

Everyone I've played against in my first five games seems to already have advanced knowledge of what to do, with perfect kiosk placements/setup, tempo plays, and combo turns.

I understand if I was in a higher league but I'm literally in bronze. I want to play against people with a similar experience level, and learn from close games. It is not fun getting completely stomped by what I can only assume as smurf accounts.

1) Everyone starts in bronze when they first participate in regardless of their ELO.
2) Just because someone has a new account doesn't mean they are inexperienced. Obviously they could have played outside of BGA.

You can play non-Arena games and filter by "new" players and apprentices. I put "new" in quotes because, once again, just because someone hasn't played on BGA doesn't mean they haven't played over the board.

Just because you are bronze does not mean your opponents will be. Your game history shows only two arena games. In both of those, your opponent was an elite level player at the time of the game and not bronze. Both players have an ELO of 300+ which is a strong player in BGA terms.

If you only want to play against bronze level players, you can change that in the arena settings for the game. Under Player's level in the advanced settings, change the 'I'm okay playing with' settings for the various skill levels to your liking.
