Arena settings

Any chance of changing the first arena season (now) to be corporate Era [on] instead of off? Seems like a big miss for arena. I realize future seasons will be determined by gurus but let's at least start off on the right foot :)

i fully agree, in 300 games i have never played without corporate era, its far too few cards and even for all beginners it never was an issue.
That should never be used for arena settings.

I also don't think arena should be two player. I feel the true competitive form of the game should be 3/4 (ideally 4).

Much like Agricola arena, I think this game should choose a player count and stick there for all arena seasons. I would recommend 4 player.

4p TM is a joke, 2p is where the skill comes in. The skill ceiling is at the highest in 2p then 3p. 4p is a non starter for competitive TM, only for logistic reasons tournaments are hosted in 4p.

I very strongly agree that Arena needs to be corporate era. Player count can be determined by the Gurus, 2P or 3P is perfectly fine, though I prefer 2P as kingmaking in 3P can be very prevalent when skill levels are unequal in TfM. From talking with some Gurus, it sounds like they're not able to vote on the next arena season right now, so I hope the admins can step in and manually change next season to Corporate Era.

this season (ending in around 10 days) most likely wont end anyway, game left alpha after season was half way through, which most likely means another 90 days lasting of the season with those "crappy" settings

Fully agree with Thread, non-corporate era is just a stupid gamemode with a single dominant strategy, no way arena of this beautiful game should be tainted by a slot machine mode. Also I really hope the devs will also implement prelude, as Base + Prelude is the most balanced mode to play TfM

Totally agree with everyone here, non-corporate is awful and no top player will ever compete in Arena with these settings, they're a joke. TM already has a very large and established competitive scene, if you want the best players in the world to migrate to BGA one day, 2-3p (preferably 2p) corporate with prelude is the way to go, period. Obviously preludes are not implemented (yet?), but at least corporate era should be a no-brainer. You won't find any serious TM player who would like to play without.

Hi Thread! Can't wait to have a game with you in the arena, came back to TM b/c of the implementation, wish to see you at the top <3

DerMaister, woah wooah woooah, let's be real here, base game corporate era Tharsis map 2p is the most balanced mode. Prelude is for casuals.
