Surely we need to change the rules for getting red thumbed, I defeated an opponent 3 consecutive games to find out she had given me a red thumb for no reason , I didn't even talk in chat , is this even allowed

You can give red thumb for any reason you want.
That just means that you do not want to play with a person.
This opponent was certainly just tired to lose, it happens, this does not affect your karma or reputation, so just let it go

Because I tried to spectate the person to ask for a rematch and it said that they blocked me

And why do you say it's for no reason? They probably had a reason: because you defeated them 3 consecutive times, or because they don't like your avatar, or because they misclicked, or because they don't want you to spectate their games...
