Abandoning the Final Match of a Tournament. :)

Hi there!!!! 
I've been on Board Game Arena for over a decade, but I've only just recently began playing in tournaments. lol I'm currently in the final match of a 64 player 7 Wonders Architects tournament, and the player that I'm playing is proposing that we collectively abandon the game. Why would we do that? Would we both be considered winners? I've asked him, but not response yet. I also don't like the sound of it. I want to play the final match!!!! lol Thanks for your help with this question!!!!
