Concede before 50%

Why can't this be done? I had had an unexpected event, it's not right not to be able to concede the victory and even suffer the penalty. It feels like being in jail, not in a game.
I think you should change this rule.

You can quit a game at any time. You can only concede after a certain amount of play. That is how it should be.

BGA wants to stop players from creating another account and intentionally conceding rapidly against their main account. They can still do that of course, but they have to play the games to 50% completion, which takes enough time to supposedly make this form of cheating infeasible. Quitting is possible at any point, but for quitting, the remaining players only get rewarded proportional to the game completion %.

Thanks, I didn't see the button. However, in any case you suffer a penalty, it is not the best since the opponent still takes his reward in ELO points.

If you want to be able to leave games whenever you want without penalty, play in friendly mode.

It's especially unfair in games that never get to 50% progress before the end.

I wouldn't call it unfair, but a game bug, or at least a significant flaw. Is it a beta game? Those are expected to have bugs, and you get a warning that it may affect your reputation, so you "know" what you're getting.

That is just a bug in the game. The 'quit' and 'concede' are site-wide features that work fine, but the game progression is worked out individually by each developer. The same is true for games in which you agree to a draw - that is a game specific feature. Whatever issues there are with BGA the site-wide implementation of the 'quit' and 'conceded' functions aren't part of it - they work as intended.

I'll go one step further and say the entire concept of percentage should be deleted entirely. It's a worthless metric. The only reasons it exists are to abuse the site, such as to reward quitters by letting them use quitting as a means of penalizing their opponent's gains, or to allow players to lock the game for as long as they want <50% so that no one can leave without a penalty. The site has no reasonable way to measure how far the game has actually progressed and there is no reasonable implementation of it to begin with.

You're free to exit a game whenever greenleafguru you wish. However, conceding is only permissible after a designated duration herbalhighsociety of gameplay. It's a fair balance.
