Undo Action Unfriendly

Hello Team,

As per the Subject, the 'Undo' button is particularly unfriendly to all involved. In its current state it seems to unwind ALL actions taken in a turn.
This is sub-optimal as I predominantly want to undo the last action I made, not my whole turn. It's also frustrating for the opponent, as they have to watch me make my entire move again, as opposed to just a singular action.

My suggestion is that this is changed to Undo only the last action, or ideally there is a further dialogue which asks what the player wishes to undo.

This should both speed up games and also improve the enjoyment of all players involved.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Regards,

f33db4k

While I agree with the suggestion, we are actually very lucky we got an Unfo button/function at all. You wouldn't believe the opposition I've encountered from other BGA players and devs to implementing an Undo function (at all).

I enjoy the BGA T Mars implementation well, and it's Undo feature. If it were possible to 'undo one step' as opposed to the whole turn, that would be fantastic. If not, I understand and will use and enjoy the current undo feature the game has.

It's also twenty times more terrible in solo play, because it undoes the whole generation. Especially with all the useless confirmations and cards constantly changing order, it's so easy to make a misclick and be forced to undo dozens of actions at once.

It is reported as suggestion in the bug system, currently has the most votes. You can also vote there:

It is also reported as a bug, that after undo, cards in hand (and probably also in tablo) change their order:

I would more like a just a simple 'cancel' button, as clicking the wrong card then leads to a full undo. Solo mode that means ALL the actions for that round.

Done and done! Thanks for the heads up 😊

Another nice feature to have is the ability to undo after discarding cards, for instance after playing Invention Contest. Ark Nova has similar features, and it is great to have, especially if players misclick what they want to discard.

Agreed, this would be nice.

Came here to suggest adding something similar to Ark Nova, where you can sort of go back step by step and what will happen is clearly stated on each button. It's really unnecessary and drags the game to do everything all over if you accidentally click someplace wrong.
