3p in Arena match making

I guess this is more of a general thing for all the games on BGA, but I only care about TM so yeah. The match making for arena 3p games should have more guard rails. I should be able to not run into elo 100s in a 3P game if I choose to. Is it just me or even after setting for player preference, for arena matches, they still often match you with low elo players? It's especially frustrating when you have two high level players in a match with a weak 3rd. You can't even blame the low elo for king making because they really don't know the intricacy of a high level match.

Arena doesn't care about elo, that's the whole point of Arena.

It does care about ELO when giving out or taking away ELO and Arena points at the end of the game.

Elo cares about Arena, Arena doesn't care about elo (except that you need 100 elo to play Arena).

Arena is all about elo. You get both elo and arena points, so every match means more. Players at higher level literally play a differnt game than low elo players, so in a 3p match you don't want to play with low elo player at all, especially when there is another elite player in the game. Tempo, free pump, city Tharsis feed, etc. If there is a weak 3rd, the game can just break down. Let's not even talk about draft issues with a weak 3rd. Not every draft is the same, but If the newbie gets a good draft pack and doesn't know which card to keep or cut, it changes the game completely.

What do you mean you get double elo points? I thought you got the same elo as a regular match, but you also get arena season points (which are separate).

I meant both, you get both elo and arena points.

Elo cares about every non-friendly game you play, Arena, tournament, or whatever, because it's a measure of your skill, and every game is relevant.
Arena is a 3-month competition, and only cares about the games you play in Arena, and about the Arena score of your opponents. Your elo or your opponents' is not relevant for Arena, only your and their Arena history (in the current season, and for the purpose of starting league, in the previous season). The point of Arena is that everyone starts "from scratch" every season, and the ranking should be based on the performance during the season.

There is nothing you have said that has anything to do with the topic, I think I understand what you are trying to argue, I don't think you are trolling, so let me counter: Elo is a measurement of performance. Even let's say you are not judging participants from their elo, I surely wish I could request not playing with a zero star bronze. Two elites in a game with an empty bronze in a 3p match is not fun for anyone. The elites will get king made by the bronze, plus draft imbalance. And the bronze will get washed for no reason. Saying in a case of a sleeper bronze get in a game with two top ranked players in a 3p match, is that really fair? ELO sleeper hit is one thing, because who cares about elo here? But arena sleeper hit is just not fair in a 3p environment. 2p I don't care, because there is less chance...nay ZERO CHANCE of a free win via king making. There must be a way to set player levels in 3p matches for arenas. It would be ridiculous not to, it's logical. Once again, I am only asking for 3p arena, player level limitations, in fact I would take just the arena level limitations. So if I want to only play within two levels of arena, I should able to do so.
Final thought, most of times, I don't even need the players in my games to be good, because fun is fun. But, please at least let me play with someone competent, who know a little bit about the intricacy of the game rather than just oh I played 50 times in real life, I am the best player in the world. That's all I ask, and that's not much, any upper gold players should able to qualify for that. TM is a popular game, the player base can be more than accommodate that. Wouldn't any arena game in a 3p setting want that? Imagine a world ranking challenge match was decided with a bad player in a game with two top ranked players. Why would anyone wants that?
P.S> I am in a match that oxygen was being bottleneck right? All the oceans are out, and I am getting passed decomposer and kelp farming from a bronze back to back. How in the world is that fair for the other elite players in the match? The bronze player is so bad, all the careful game planning by my true competition is out of the window. Why? simply because while the bronze passing to me, he has high impact cards in that draft pack that decides the game, while when he passing to the other elite in the game, the draft pack simply wasn't as impactful. I don't even need that to win, but I just know if the script is flipped I wouldn't be happy about it at all.

You can restrict your Arena opponents by league (not by elo). There are reports that it doesn't work, but it should, and if it doesn't it's a bug (or a removed feature), but a site-wide bug, not specific to this game. A word of caution: a zero star bronze does not mean a bad player, it could be a world-class master playing their first Arena game.

For fun, I prefer playing non-Arena games, where I can choose my settings and restrict the player levels much more reasonably. Ultimately, if you don't like the Arena system (the matchmaking, the way the rankings work, the specific settings used for the season, etc.), there's no need to play Arena.
