IRL: M44 at World Boardgaming Championships, July 25-27, in Pennsylvania, USA

Thursday-Saturday, July 25-27, we'll have a Memoir tournament plus 5 Overlords at the World Boardgaming Championships (WBC). This has been the largest Memoir tournament in North America for many years. WBC is held in Seven Springs, Pennsylvania, which is south of Pittsburgh.
The Memoir tournament will be Thursday evening and all day Friday, July 25-26. Single elimination, with a Mulligan round Thursday evening (if you lose, you can re-enter in the morning). In addition, between Thursday and Saturday, we have 5 Overlords scheduled - including a full D-Day Landings: Operation Neptune. (So stay for the Overlords on Saturday 7/27!)
The tournament scenarios are:
• Mulligan & Round 1 – [Normandy] Counter-Attack at Tessel – Battle between the British and Germans with infantry, plenty of tanks, protective terrain, and wide open spaces. British “Stiff Upper Lip” rule is in effect. (If you have the Mediterranean Theater” expansion, bring it, though it’s not necessary)
• Round 2 – [Normandy] Battle of Tilly-sur-Seulles – Mixed forces for both sides battling it out in a maze of terrain
• Round 3 – The Battle of The Bulge – Mixed forces in a tactical battle in the Ardennes. If you have the Eastern Front expansion, bring it as a reminder that the rivers are frozen
• Round 4 – [Provence] Battle in the Argens Valley – The Allies also landed in the south of France in August of 1944, and this infantry battle is from the morning after that. This scenario includes roads and an Allied Armor Breakthrough
• Semifinal – [Normandy] Battle of Bloody Gulch – It’s a battle of Special Forces infantry. The Americans have assorted Special Weapons Assets, while the Germans have a couple of Panzers. The Germans hope to weave through the hedgerows and forests, and past the Allies, to exit on the far side of the board
• Final – [Normandy] Capture of Chef-du-Pont – Another tactical infantry battle, amid the hedgerows and marshes of Normandy, with an Allied Heroic Leader aiming to capture a bridge from the Germans
And here's the basic schedule of Overlord games. (Subject to change if something new and irresistible comes along.)
• Thursday 2 PM: Peleliu Landings
• Friday 11 PM: Push to the Roer (Advanced scenario)
• Saturday 10 AM: Stolberg Corridor
• Saturday 2 PM: D-Day Landings: Operation Neptune
• Saturday 7 PM: The Bastogne Corridor (Overthrough – an Overlord played on two Breakthrough boards)
If there are too many players for one Overlord, we'll open up a second scenario.
The convention has more than 100 tournaments (also including Battle Cry, C&C Napoleonics, and C&C Samurai Battles). Full information is at https://www.boardgamers.org/wbcindex.html
The full, official Tournament information available at https://www.boardgamers.org/wbc24/Previews/m44.html
