In the last option, you'll see:

"[Username] didn't do anything that you can see above"

Sorry, but if the problem is not in ANY of the previous categories, it is probably not a violation of our Terms of Use.

In such a situation, we strongly recommend that you give a Red Thumb to this player, so they will not be able to play or chat with you anymore, instead of contacting the moderators."

Just select a category that is close enough.

Never do it in the forum. Bear in mind that 99.9% of users who turn up to talk about this on the forums are making a false accusation. No doubt you have a legitimate case - when you report it you will need to present compelling evidence because of the false accusations.

Cheating IS against the terms of use.

Most of the ways players can cheat at board games irl are not possible on BGA (fudging dice, moving pieces illegally, card tricks, etc...). The only ways to cheat here (kingmaking and using multiple accounts) are options you can pick when reporting a player.

@Richerstars: tell us briefly how the player cheated (without giving their name or details that would identify them).

@Jellby: I totally disagree with you: there are players who are experienced in using modes of under-the-radar cheating (running down the opponent's clock by spamming and trash-talking them in chat (without using explicit insult words), running their clock down, then harassing them with Expel).
Do NOT just silently red-thumb them and walk away. a) DO report them to moderation b) DO discuss here in forums under-the-radar cheating modes that don't correspond to any current category. Then we can all collectively get those forms of cheating recognized. That can eventually help.

You disagree with me? I just quoted what BGA says when you attempt to report a player. So you disagree with BGA or with someone else.

Being convivial is not a form of cheating, nor are you incapable of making a move while someone is typing in the chat box. Either they are being aggressive/insulting in which case you ignore them and report them, or they are just chattering inanely, in which case you can just ignore them - in neither case does it have any effect on your time - and, in neither case is it cheating, though the first is reportable for other other reasons. In a few games there have been game specific exploits (I'm thinking of Can't Stop and Hive but there are other examples) but even these are basically bugs where the fix is to fix the implementation not change the enforcement.

@RobertBr: The cheating I describe has nothing to do with "being convivial". It was repeatedly trash-talking me on my clock, while trying to walk the boundary of what the automatic insult generator would accept. Of courseit afects your game. It is reportable.
