Hearts - Jack of Diamonds???

Whenever I have played hearts the Jack of Diamonds is always a desirable card to capture. In the way we play, it would be worth +10 points (pushes you back up) and therefore adds a very interesting dynamic to the game: you need high diamonds!

Has anyone played this way, and have we thought of doing it here?

It adds a fun dynamic and would be a great variant for BGA to host.

In this variation, do you need to catch (or maybe avoid? ;) ) the Jack of Diamonds in order to shoot the moon?

The way I've played, the moon and the jack are totally independent. So in a best case you can get the jack and everything else and your up (or down, as we play it) 10 while everyone else is down (or up) 26.

It adds a dimension and also gives some importance to A K Q of diamonds, and diamond tricks generally. It counterbalances the urge to avoid taking any tricks when the queen risks falling.

It has crossed my mind to become a developer here but I haven't done the research and I'm not ready to, yet. But it seems like it would be an easy first thing to do, if it were allowed.
