Arena season

I completed my first whole Arena season recently, I managed to achieve 1 of the 2 goals I set myself, finishing in the top 100 of Azul whilst failing to climb into the Elite leage of Heat.
I enjoyed the challenges and will attempt them again this season and along the way I discovered Splendor Duel and enjoyed that also and hope to competein Arena there too.
At the end of the season a couple of things didn't quite meet my expectations:
I assumed that the ranking besides your ELO would be that of your place in the Arena ranking last season, it's not and is in fact your ranking based upon your current ELO.
I expected that after the long 3 month season finished they'd be more of a fanfare, an award or a notification with some cool stats, there wasn't.
I'd personally like to see those changes, does anyone else have any thoughts on that or anything else they'd like to see enhance the Arena experience? Or would like to share their own experience of last season?
