Mutli-step turns taking too long?

I was playing a game yesterday, never leaving the computer, never idling, but I ran out of time and was booted. The reason was how one step in a turn creates more steps and so on and so on. It was near the end of the game so doing one thing started a cascade of more steps and each one causes the computer to pause before I can continue and eventually, my time ran out even though I was active on the game the entire time.

Is there a way to fix the countdown clock so that it doesn't run out if you are active in playing the game?

I agree, this has happened to me so many times through no fault of mine. The processing of all the turns can be really slow as well

This topic is all over Ark Nova formus for the same thing. a turn that triggers a lot of extra actions, that trigger more actions, ect..

the framework of BGA doesnt have a way for the game programmer to do much. if they give extra time for an extra action, they cant take it back if you undo what gave the extra action. I'm sure you can see how that could be horribly abused.

Best solution is to try not to set yourself up for a massive combo turn (although thats kinda why I play these games, lol), or just play games with slower time restrictions.

I have had it happen once over 150 games and that was due to turns being on fast and having to multitask something in real life. To stop it from happening you need to plan ahead and not worry about making the perfect optimal move.

As for the processing that sucks and it would be great if they could condense it or cut it out. Waiting 30 seconds while it shows me every move is crazy.

This just happened to me. Got booted at the last second when my last turn, in which I had silver lake and an eagle took 1 second too long. So frustrating. There should be some sort of time-out that you can call once per game. Or as the game progresses you get even more time.
