Why so many friendly mode games?

I'm just trying to figure out why there are so many TM games that are set to friendly mode. There are so many more friendly mode game tables on any given day compared to other games. What's up with that? What am I missing?

Prelude is in Alpha, so they have to be played in Friendly.

Indeed is it because Prelude is in alpha and, most of us, _love_ playing prelude so we play it even though it is 'friendly'. Yesterday I had the same dude (he's done this before)* quit on me when he was down... can't wait for Prelude to not be alpha so he/she can at least get an ELO penalty for quitting games... *= Why do I still play games with this dude? I'm not premium so if his table is only one that is available... I sigh and join. Best wishes.

It being friendly means people are much more likely to allow themselves to run out of time. I think basically every single game of play now has at least one other player going over the clock. It's getting frustrating. I swear more games are ending in a player getting booted than actually finishing. Prelude is just such a fantastic addition to the game, it's hard to play without it.

There's an easy solution to this! Move Prelude out of Alpha...pleeeease!

I'm sick of it being in alpha because it seems far too many players are using that as an excuse to allow themselves to run out of time. I've had more players go over time, and more games ended of TM than anything else. The only recourse is red thumbing them as well, booting them from the game doesn't impact their karma.

Alpha is for testing, not for early access. If you just want to play and finish games, and don't intend to try "unexpected" moves and so on, don't play alpha games or expansions.

Not even sure how to set to get friendly mode. Has solo mode been eliminated.

Yeah, alpha is intended for testing.
Don't be surprised if people try things and leave the game.

As for when it will go out of alpha; well, the more people actually try things to test and report problems, the quicker...
