It's worth pointing out that nobody in this thread called the particular streak "unfair". OP just described it as "interesting". Out of curiosity I ran a Monte Carlo simulation of 10,000,000 trials. In each trial, a pair of dice was thrown 51 times (the same number as in the game OP linked to). In 55 of the trials, there was a run of 9 or more of the same value. Full results:

Other than those two trials, every time there was a run of 9 or more, the value was six, seven, or eight. Seven times it was six; 35 times it was seven; and 11 times it was eight.
