I wonder if we will get different options on how to play Vale with the expansion. Currently there is only one way to play with the base set. If we get multiple options I would expect a combination of the following:

1) Base game, no artifacts (same as current)

2) Expansion added with artifacts (score 80 to win)

3) Expansion added, no artifacts (score 60 to win)

The new cards look like they will be fun with and without artifacts. The cards are all designed so artifacts are optional, but many new cards will play better with artifacts, particularly the ones that require discarding cards, which pairs well with the shelter cards mechanic.
