Strange interaction with player

Today, I had a very odd interaction with a French player in arena mode.
During the first round, after playing a few moves, I was starting to get ahead. Obviously the opponent wouldn't know my exact score but he seemed to sense something. Suddenly he wrote "lol, bye" in the chat. I was kind of surprised and asked him what was going on.
He claimed that he knew I was going to win. I asked him how he knew that and he said that "he had checked" and knew I was going to win. I told him that nothing was decided yet and that this game is heavily luck-based. He claimed that it's not and that it's just how the BGA algorithm works. He even claimed that he could predict the outcome of the game (43 to 17), which really surprised me, but that he would concede beforehand so I wouldn't be able to know for sure. I asked him how he knew all of that and he just never explained himself and just said that that is what it is.
Overall I found this really strange and I was wondering if there is any way that his claims could be true or if he just was a bad/sore player (his ELO wasn't that low...)? Anyone has any idea? I'm really confused...

He cannot predict anything, he can just guess.
If it was possible to know the result beforehand, nobody would play

They're just salty, possibly a troll. Yes, Sea Salt is a heavily luck-based game, that's why no one has very high ratings in it. The top couple players barely break 500. That's the highest. Compare that to say, Ticket to Ride and 500 won't even get you into the top 100.
