I’m played one game of this and really liked it but none of us saw a biodome ever. Ignorant question of is this building just super rare? We were building like crazy and it never came out. I also recognize that maybe it’s available and we didn’t see where it was to build?

According to the manual, there are 4 biodomes, out of 48 tiles (40 if you remove the 8 basic hotels).

They are rare but don't be discouraged from placing a Pterodactyl if you have the chance. A Pterodactyl is almost always worth building even if it rampages every round. Just make sure to place it in a fenced pen and replace the fence each time it breaks. It will have a ~33% to eat a visitor every round but the points they bring in and the reputation make them worth it.

The only time this isn't true is if you also have a Brontosaurus.

Can you build a biodome under the dinosaur after it has been placed?

no, you can't place it under the ptedoractyl if the ptero is already played

But you can build fences to rearrange your dinos, which means the city action to pay 2 or the uplink card to get 5 free fences will let you rearrange

It's polite of the pterodactyls not to fly off your island.
