These cards don't even combo, completely unintuitive! They both are bad cards and the game makes them worse

I assume the combo you were looking for is to buy a veggie using lutenist and then turn it into food using culinary artist? Lutenist has the wording: "...immediately after, you can buy exactly 1 veggie for 2 food". I don't know the exact wording of culinary artist, but I assume this card is resolved before you can buy the veggie using lutenist.
