Board Game Arena

Hi,

I was first spot in the terraforming mars arena season at 14.00

But at 14.10 i was second

Could you tell me what happens now?
I cant find it on your site!
The season finished 14.00 but does this mean all pending games dont count anymore or games that started before 14.00 all count?

The most probable reason that comes to mind might be unfinished turn-based arena games. If there were such, points may be assigned based on remaining time. Obviously, this processing will take time so a change minutes after wouldn't be that weird.

Maybe you can check among the running games if there were any (former?) arena games left?

In the move 549 you can see the message of the arena season ending. No idea how to check the assigned points to that.

It doesnt have anything to do with the top person!

It has only sonething to do with my own game!

What i need to know from you and please make it clear!

The time of 14.00 is the time when the arena season ends!
Games that start at 13.30 and finish 14.30 do they count or not?

I'm not sure what led you to believe that posting in the forums is a direct line to the site admins. Occasionally one might see and respond to a random post in a thread that they didn't create, but that's the exception, not the rule. And frequently when that happens it's in a thread relating to critical issues with the site like a server outage.

From FAQ:
What happened to Arena turn-based games at the end of the season?
It is no longer possible to start new turn-based Arena games in the last 5 days of the season.

If your turn-based game is not finished at the end of the Season, the player who spent the most thinking time during the game will lose the game and lose Arena points.

Other players won't gain or lose any Arena points for this game.

The game may continue afterwards, but there will not be any further consequences for the Arena rankings.

Ok, rechecked the FAQ (https://boardgamearena.com/faq?anchor=f ... dendseason). As teallite copied, turn-based games on the edge of the season only result on lost points for the loser, so RR wouldn't have gotten higher on the ranking.
Then went further digging and found a real-time game you were playing at the closing time (https://boardgamearena.com/table?table=572719237) which ended in you losing some points. Seems it counted, even if the game finished 9m after the season end. That is what led to the swap.

What remains I guess is for someone to make a suggestion so they explicit that behaviour within the FAQ.

I will try to be as complete as i possibly can but long story short is that its not clear exactly when arena season ends!

In the message you are sending in the arena main page there is text that season ends at 14.00 at a cirtain date.

What is not clear is what happens with games that started before and finish after 14.00.

I never play turn based but for me:
I was in first place at 13.00 at the terraforming mars game.
Then i thought i could start up a game because it wouldnt be finished before 14.00 so wouldnt count anymore for the season….
Wrong thought i figured later but its just not clear!
I was under the impression that at 14.00 the score on the mainpage of the arena environment would be the end score. And at 14.00 i was on top!
At 14.09 i finished a game that put me on second spot but if i would have known that i could fall down even if it finished after 14.00 i would never play this game!
In the faq there is nothing clear about this and its like impossable to reach or contact anyone that can give a decent response i will post it in the buggs and hope to get a decent response and hope to avoid dissapointment for others in the future!

I would very much like to be contacted about this (i prefer by telephone but any other reaction is also appreciated)

remember you can always play a simple game and that definitely doesn't count for Arena
